This attractive looking building now houses an art gallery. I didn't go inside as it was too late in the day to make it worthwhile, but the exterior is quite nice and worthy of a visit by itself. A few other interesting structures in the vicinity further justify a visit to this area.

This royal palace now serves as a gallery and as an art museum.
Entrance fee is minimal and the museum (which I've reviewed separately) is well presented with some beautiful works of art.

The building itself is huge and some parts are beautiful. The Europen collection is excellent with Breughel, El Greco, Rembrandt, Cranach and the french impressionists. The Roumanian part is something what we would suggest to everyone. There are painters like, Grigorescu, Pallady, Amman etc they are equal to any of the "big European" names, just beeing Roumanian they are not well known.

The building is huge and impressive. But it is not well maintained and it is a litlle dissapoinitng after seeing other palaces in europe. We took the one hour tour with a guide that was great. I suggest to go and see but do not expect too much.

Throughout the history, the Royal Palace has went through many extension and renovation works, currently known as one of the most notable neoclassical buildings in Bucharest, also housing the National Museum of Art, a splendid collection of famous paintings and sculptures by many Romanian and world's renown artists.

Been there for couple of hours in order to disconnect from the city agitation. Perfect spot to do it if you’re into art. The building itself is quite impressive, both outside and inside. Very nice collection of art work!

I could just imagine how this former palace would have looked like at its glory days! It now houses the European Arts Exhibits and the Romanian Exhibits.

Outside at its front lawn are several beautiful sculptures and benches to rest and relax here.

The Royal Palace was built in 1937 but served as the residence for the Kings of Romania only until 1947, when the communist regime took place.

Since 1950 the Palace has hosted the National Museum of Art of Romania.

This splendid palace now houses the National Art collection which is well worth seeing in the 2 wings they are in. However the history of the building is very important too as the Royal family lived here up to 1947 . The first palace was built in 1820 and was the residence of KIng Carol 1st. Most of the present building is from 1937 following a fire and King Carol 2nd ordered it to be rebuilt. it was burned by the revoltion in 1989 but restored.
