Few people know that the remnants of this palace are linked to Vlad the Impaler the ruler of Walachia also known as Vlad Dracul or Dracula and who is mistakenly linked to the castle of Bran just because he lived there for a period ;...More

I was and still am fascinated by this Vlad the Impaler who keeps watch over the ruins of this old medieval court. It is situated in the Old Town (the Old Town is just across the Intercontinental hotel) on the str Franceza. A robust bust...More

We sought this site out after seeing Bran Castle and hearing about Vlad the Impaler. This is a medieval palace he had built but currently is in ruins. It is worth walking by to get a feeling for the history of it all. Not much...More

A relatively small place. Not really a museum, just the few remaining ruins of a castle. Not bad, but there much better things to see in Bucharest.

I asked the guard and a nearby shopkeeper and both gave me the impression it has been closed for some time with no plans to reopen soon. I came to visit midweek and there were no workmen or signs of current renovating. Shame as it...More

You can view over 90% of the artefacts from outside through the tailings so there is no need to pay to go in unless you want a closer look but everything is laid out clearly and in good view. It's worth a look but I...More

To be very honest - there is not too much to see. If you know where you are - in the old town of the city - than you can immagine, how life was some 500 years ago.
