- Lyubomir TSofia, Bulgaria55 contributionsStreet worth your time! This is the street I would recommend everybody, at least once visit. There are many traditional restaurants offering traditional Serbian cuisine, as well as their famous craft beer - Dogma, which I would recommend either sit for a quick bite (lunch or dinner) or a glass of beer. Either way, its an amazing experience, especially to hear the nearby live music from the restaurants. One advise - wear comfy shoes, since the road is paved and not so comfortable walking on it.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten May 1, 2024

First impression - a street with traditional, lovely decorated Serbian restaurants playing live music, that's what is seen from the photos.
In reality, prices are shockingly high and good luck finding a seat as everywhere is so spoilt with tourists so that they have become very pick and choose - they only want large feasting groups. If you're a couple stopping for a drink or small snack you won't be let in anywhere - most likely you'll be politely told you need a reservation (despite numerous empty tables) or openly, that unfortunately the meal is necessary.
There are plenty of better value places, just do some research or come randomly literally anywhere else outside of this district.

You can't walk normally on the street at night since a ton of obnoxious musicians will play loudly right in to your ear and if you walk past them and just go forward minding your own business, don't worry, they will follow you and make sure you are irritadted every single step on the street. God forbid you are a couple, they will surround you and play their thing (which is appareantly only 2-3 songs repeating over and over again) so they will ruin your experience of the street, which otherwise seems nice during the day. The musicians simply don't have a concept of "leave me alone, I am just walking buy" and the only way to get rid of them is that you run or just go into one of the restaurants. About the restaurants - book well in advance, otherwise you don't get a spot anywhere. This are the main two reasons that Skadarlija experience was ruined for me. I hope I didn't hurt anybodies feelings now.

When visiting Belgrade (or Beograd, as said in Serbia), you must include a visit or at least a stroll down to the Old Bohemian Quarter known as Skadarlija. There are restaurants, a few shops, antiques, and all set on a very charming cobblestone street that will make you want to return either at night for a Bohemian traditional dinner at one of the many restaurants, or if you go at night first to eat, return to a quieter stroll during the day. Either one, enjoy this lovely, aestheticly charming piece of Belgrade that I so enjoyed remembering Serbia!

I have been working in different parts of the world for years and have visited many countries as a tourist, and this is not the first time I recommend a place.
We decided to go to Belgrade before the New Year, looking for a place close to our country where we could go with our family and that we had not been to before.
I realized why I didn't go before.
Two months have passed since our trip, and while I was just telling my friend about the negativities we experienced more than once during taxi trips, it made me want to share my experiences for the first time.
Taxi drivers are racist and rude enough to get out of the taxi before my trip started, even though I had children in a rainy day.
They have a mesur meatball, it looks like Tekirdağ meatball, we ate it in two recommended places, besides it is very oily, it is served with stringy inside and not fully cooked,
We decided to have breakfast accompanied by the piano in the most prosperous place, but the quality of the products offered for breakfast is terrible.
The streets are a little more beautiful like Taksim, but it's not worth going and seeing just for that.
We visited three museums, we had an incredible difficulty with a stroller in the museums, disabled transportation is '0'
We ate at two Italian restaurants,
The pizzeria in the center is considered good, but it is uncomfortable due to the density, and although there are almost only Turkish customers, they are rude.
The Italian restaurant by the river is really nice.
These are the things that stay in my mind in a week.

This is a beautiful historical neighbourhood worth wandering around and enjoying local cuisine. It comes alive in the evenings - not loud or rambunctious - but relaxed and easy with a wonderful local vibe. Explore and enjoy.

Skadarlija is a neighborhood that embodies the bohemian spirit of Belgrade. Famous for its historical texture and cobblestone streets, Skadarlija is the heart of Belgrade’s art and entertainment scene. It has inspired many artists, writers and musicians.
Taking a walk in Skadarlija is like taking a nostalgic journey. Colorful cafes, restaurants and streets full of music await you. Moreover, you may also have the chance to taste traditional Serbian cuisine @velika.skadarlija 💃🏼
Street cats in Serbia are an integral part of the city. You are likely to encounter these cute friends in areas like Skadarlija. They are usually fed and cared for by locals, and many restaurants and cafes even provide them with food. In Skadarlija, it is common to see street cats roaming freely and adding color to the environment😻😍
