For me this was the finest spiritual experience in all of Belgrade. While I loved St. Sava's, it just doesn't have the intimacy of this church. There's also some really pretty decorations and the various gold inlaid depictions of the saints. I highly recommend taking in a service, or a little part of one here. Even if you're not religious... By far my favorite place in all of Belgrade. Rising above Tasmajdan park, the view towards Crkva Svetog Marka is simply stunning. No wonder it is included in so many song lyrics !

Orthodox church, impressive by its huge dimensions. From outside it looks appealing but the interior is modest.

The internal walls of this huge church is not painted and white. That makes the touristic attraction very little.

In this church you will not only find beautiful greek-style architecture and icons, bt also a grave of 14th century serbian emperor Dušan the Mighty who conquered a large part of southeast Europe, becoming one of the most powerful monarchs of the era and who was known as the Emperor of the Serbs and Greeks.

Glad to find this in TA, it was an amazing visit. The vivid colors are very uplifting. The iconography is visible in every view you take in. Though we did not understand the significance of these items in worship it is real and palpable.

The church would have to be my favourite in the city. I visit it whenever I am in Belgrade. I recommend visiting if you have the time and you are in the area. The architecture is truly amazing. The kiosk inside sells candles and souvenirs. If you want to light candles then take them outside to the left or right... More
