I had rented a bike and headed over from around the Kalemegdan area. The ride was pleasant and once I crossed onto the island I was happy to find bike-able trails alongside the DIY summer housing/camping around the island.
The beach itself was sandy, quiet, and seemed to have a higher percentage of locals than Ada (which was packed and with a fair amount of tourists). I enjoyed the afternoon reading there. There's a snack bar on the island - though I didn't buy anything - and nearby cafes right back across the bridge.
Recommended for a low-key afternoon of beachin'

Lido is a popular swimming Zemun gang, which is located on the Great War Island in the Danube. Unfortunately, we have not used it for a couple of years, because it no longer sets the pontoon bridge that connects the Lido season and Zemun quay, so that the buyer can not get to the beach.

We went there by a boat (the return ticket is 300 dinars) and we saw many people swimming, getting tanned, having a barbecue etc. Personally, I dislike swimming in rivers and the Danube was dirty at the time so, we only washed our feet. Also, the place is not so clean. People usually do not pay enough attention. Apart from that, nature is beautiful and it is worth visiting. Bring drinking water, food, towels etc.

Beautiful island, beautiful beach, unspoiled nature, you usually have to take a boat to go there, there is no better way to spend one sunny day than to go to the Lido, sit under the three on the white river sand and to watch Danube river surface, rare birds and enjoy silence and the beauty of nature but also the view of the Belgrade and Zemun is georgeous!
P.S. It is convinient for families with small children since the water is really shallow and clear.

A nice little spot to take a break from the hot city. A walking bridge connect the island with the mainland. The beach area is small and get quite crowded. Shallow water in the swimming area. A kiosk are selling beverages, pricey of course.

Lido beach is an alternative for Ada Ciganlija. This one is on Danube side the other is on Sava rivrs side.
If you are up for a swim, would recommend the other one.

It was re-opened to swimmers after two years, that is connected to the pontoon bridge with the Zemun quay. Sandy beach, well furnished with plenty of natural shade. The water is clean, a non-swimmers is duly marked.

Lido is located on the northern tip of the Great War Island, on the Danube. It is actually a small, pointed sandy beach without permanent residents, which covers just small fragment of the island, as the entire Great War Island is protected by the law and urbanization is not allowed. It is nice place to escape from summer hot.
