This is one of the oldest streets in Kyiv. The best way to approach this to take the funicular up from Kontractova Ploscha, then spend sometime on the hill where Andriyivska church is located, and then leisurely walk down the hill and shop and/or just...More

The teal green cupolas of St. Andrew’s Church in Kyiv can be seen from a distance, a departure from the usual gold cupolas found on many orthodox churches. St. Andrew’s is designed in the baroque fashion, a common style of Empress Elizaveta’s favorite architect, Bartolomeo...More

It was designed in the 18th century by the Italian architect Rastrelli, who was also responsible for the Winter Palace in St Petersburg. It is certainly impressive inside. A definite must on even a short visit to Kiev, especially as you can take in Andrew's...More

Well worth a visit. Gorgeous is all I can say! The 3 main churches are all walking distance from each other (10 mins from one to the other). This is my favourite of the 3, it's spectacular. Also has great views over the Dnipro.

Beautiful view of Kiev from the top of the hill, and great place to walk around. The area around it has cobblestone streets, with restaurants and cafes lining the street.

A tall yet smallish cathedral. Built for the 'court' rather than for a congregation. The cathedral provides a delightful green and gold presence to the green hills side of the Dnipro River

My friends and I went there in the evening for the first time, when the sun was setting, so it was a really pleasant walk (we went back for souvenirs on the next day, at 3 in the afternoon, the blazing sun killed us). Great...More

The sound of the choir during service is something very much to enjoy. It makes the beauty of the building even more realistic, when one combines sound and vision into one.
