This is a pleasant area of town to have a wander. There are lots of souvenir stands, including an odd selection of antiques. There is a row of artists stalls. In the evening much of it closes, but there are buskers. The cobbled streets add to the atmosphere. St. Andrews itself is under renovation, but the street is still lively.

Andriyivski Uzviz or St Andrew's cathedral is currently under construction and can't be visited at least per 17 June 2016. The surrounding area is filled with souvenir stands and was called the "Montmartre of Kiev" by our tour guide.

Undoubtedly an impressive structure which unfortunately had its two main towers covered in scaffolding and plastic no doubt undergoing renovation. A pity they couldn't do what I have seen on other ancient structures undergoing similar work where the plastic sheeting is actually imprinted with a photograph of what its covering. Because of the work there is no entrance either. No... More

It even has its own (and good) museum! It is a steep street in historical center of Kiev where Bulhakov's house used to be (he was born and raised in Kiev), where you can find some old houses and some of the gone climate of XIX century Kiev of the time when - after many wars and before the bolshevik... It is definitely worth a visit. A small steep street witnessed multiple changes through centuries. You will find a couple of museums and even a small theatre there, leave alone a plenty of cafes and restaurants. Some of the famous "The White Guards" film was also performed there. The street is full of souvenirs traders, which makes it a little... More
