Here you can see real peasant's house (izba) from different regions of Ukraine and different ages (some of them more than 100 yo) and get comments from personal. Better to have somebody who will translate from Russian (Ukrainian) to English. This is rather big place - be prepared to travel by foot an hour or more. Not many people there,... More

We visited Pirogovo in mid-March. It was a week day and we were the only visitors. The place is educational for those, who interested, but the best time to visit is in season. I wouldn't recommend eating in the cafeteria; my son and myself had upset stomachs later in the afternoon. At the entrance to the museum and when we... More

Though we have been told that this place was enchanting especially in spring and summer, as we visited Ukraine in December, we wanted to visit it anyway. We were the only visitors as the weather was very very cold that day despite the sun but we still enjoyed it a lot. In fact, walking alone in that pastoral setting was... More

Beautiful place where you can spend all day.Everywhere you can see ukrainian traditional "hatini" (houses) and churches. In Pirogovo Museum exist their own air that permeated the atmosphere of Ukrainian culture. This museum requires above average amounts of physical activity from you but it is worth it.The best choice be if you will go with friends.

If you are in Kiev and want to spare a few hours out-of-this-world experience, you must visit Pirogovo Museum. It is a great place to experience Ukranian rural life. Different houses from different regions are scattered thru a huge area. There are wooden churhes, schools, blacksmith shop, carpenter shop. You can talk to the old lady in her garden taking... More

The area is great to spend time to see history of Ukraine. It is good for summer season as for me. The area is huge to walk.

A beautiful open-air museum. Prepare to spend an entire day - there is a lot to see and it is all worth seeing. There are traditional Ukrainian homes and churches from nearly every region of Ukraine. It almost feels like you are visiting the country several hundred years ago - and it is all conveniently brought together in one location.

I went to the Pirogovo Cultural park and it is a wonderful place. Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather as you will be in for a long hike. The government has collected very old churches, windmills, cottages, grist mills and various other buildings from all over the country and brought them to this place. Many of the buildings... More

I went with a friend this morning to the Pirohovo Open-Air Museum and we both loved the experience. Being a history, art, and architecture enthusiast, I loved that I could see a well-preserved collection of traditional Ukrainian buildings in multiple styles. We made the decision to hire a guide as we entered the grounds. I highly recommend that you do... More
