Wonderful architecture

The building is an architectural masterpiece. If you visit it, walk around the area and see many other interesting buildings in the neighborhood.

It's in a restricted area behind armed guards and you can only go up to it from one direction on a specific day of the week. We wasted so much time walking up and down hills looking for the way in it almost destroyed our day.

This is the building in the Art Nouveau style, designed by the famous Polish architect Władysław Horodecki in 1901–1902. The house features large numbers of chimeras statues which gives the name of the masterpiece "The House with Chimeras". The building has been used as a presidential residence for official and diplomatic ceremonies since 2005 .

Architector Horodetskiy created this great building with 3 floors from one side and six from another in memory of his daughter, but this is just a legend. Another guys said that it was just a disputed lack of chances to built here and he managed it to show that he's genius. Anyway if you like walking through the old city... More

The whole quarter is close for some political reason. You can see only the small piece of the building's corner from a far. It is very strange that the building is still advertised in the many touristic brochures.

"-Is this the house with monsters? -No, this is the house with chimeras. The house with monsters is across the street" Such is a popular joke after the government closed the access to this marvel. Built on a dare by the prodigy of his time, Gorodetsky erected this house in a place, that others considered damned: steep slopes, the sandy... More

This building is covered by tens of fantastic statues. It is one of the rarest jems of Kiev. It is located next to presidential house. Especially architecture enthusiasts should make their way there.

You should fill up the form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSccSaDw9wHpckjbdMeKqwi9pMn6TMG3VMvijxZ47Ecqlv0dcQ/viewform (in Ukrainian too) and then you'll get invite to visit The House with Chimeras, Administration of the President of Ukraine and The House of the Crying Widow. Excursions are only at Sat. and Sund, so you... More

There really isn't much to do other than gazing up at the bizarre sculptures crawling off the roof. I read that tours are theoretically possible but hard to get on, and infrequent.
