Located in the same location as when it was operating. It offers free parking. It sure brings back memories. It nice, clean and organized. You get the chance to see different locomotives that were us us through the years...call in advance to find out the exact time the train tour is on. You get to ride the train around the facility for about 15 minutes. This ride cost $1.00 in addition to the $1.00 you pay to get in.

This is a really cute museum. There are beautiful gardens and you can ride one of the old trains. There are coffee shops and a place to buy souvenirs.

It is a very nice museum, few items to see, but a whole lot of history. There is a lot of open space for kids to run. We missed the train ride, on sunday the schedule is 11am and 2pm.

This museum just opened a few years ago in the old administrative and public buildings that used to be part of the Salvadoran railway system in San Salvador, which provided transport for people and goods from the 1880's to the 1990's. Its displays an important legacy of trains and related machinery and items which are explained both in English and Spanish. Do take an uber to get there. It is located in an old industrial and commercial area east of the citi where you don't want to get lost. visit must take you a couple of hours and you get to ride and old trail for a couple of hundred meters.

This was a fun experience to see the railway museum in San Salvador. It was very easy to get to and had excellent parking. The museum is large with a lot of exhibits. They even had an operating engine with passenger cars that took you on a short ride around the rail yard. I recommend a stop here for anyone visiting San Salvador there is a lot of history and very nice displays as well the grounds are well maintained and pleasant. The train ride if running the day you go is only $1.00.
