There are many stalls here however they pretty much all sell almost the same thing with little variety. If you need souvenirs there are plenty… just know there is not a ton of variety. The vendors were all very friendly with no pressure to buy… only to come look.

Such a lovely little market place. Colorful, welcoming people, lots of high quality products. Free toilets, bus stop nearby. Easy walk from major hotels in San Bentio, safe area.

Not sure why people think this city and this market is "dangerous", as I felt safer there than any other markets I've ever been too. All the merchants were super friendly, and there was some great deals to have. The atmosphere is buzzing, electric, fun, colorful, and loud! I absolutely recommend going there for an hour or so.

We visit El Salvador annually and always take our groups to this mercado for souvenirs and gifts. It's small enough to navigate easily, and the vendors are friendly if a little aggressive in trying to get you into see their merchandise. You can barter for better prices or a discount on multiple items. It's fun. Most of the vendors accept cash only and no bills larger than $20, so be aware of that before you go. A must see if you want to shop outside a more formal mall or at the airport.

Various local handicrafts, like t-shirts, hammocks, paintings. Vendors ask for high tourist prices with some room for bargaining.

Walked over here from the Crowne Plaza (about 45 mins-1 hour) to have a look. Typical Salvadoran souvenirs including backpacks and bags, coin purses, ceramics, coffee mugs, wood carvings, masks, figurines, weavings,(tablecloths, napkins, placemats), hammocks, and paintings. We bought a small framed painting of a typical scene on a feather for $7 that’s something we’ve not seen before. Friendly vendors who aren’t high-pressure. A good place to get your souvenirs without hassle at good prices.
Easy to find. Small “cafeteria” with food available. The pollo smelled awesome but we weren’t hungry. Darn!

Small outdoor market in San Salvador. You can find all kinds of crafts and some clothing items. Prices are reasonable. There is a small parking lot and a cafeteria where you can buy bottled water or soda.
