All along the Emerald Coast there are amazing beaches and beautiful hotels, hostels and high-end resorts. There is truly something for everyone. The beaches are quiet and the water is warm. And watching the surfers is exciting

Almost empty and unspoiled. We walked it for hours just to meet 10 people along the way. Great waves for surfing lessons! A bit demanding in the afternoons

Great surf beach, the right side is great for surfing at low tide & the left end is better at high tide. Very quiet in the middle of the beach. Surf can be busy, especially at the right end.

I enjoy Popoyo for many reasons. Number one being the Rancho above where you can get out of the heat and enjoy the views, good music, grab a bite to eat, something cold drink. It's one of the safest beaches I've ever been on worldwide....More

Playa Popoyo is. One of the great surfing spots in Nicaragua. The waves can get absolutely huge, but they seem restricted to the far northern end of the beach area, leaving the front beach quite acceptable for swimming. There are plenty of bars and small...More
