Worth the quick taxi ride up; you'll learn a lot of Nicaragua's real-life "John Wayne" and revolutionary history. Eerie museum too which helps the setting of the tortures by Somoza. Great city view from the top.

It's a good place to see views of the city and the lake. You can walk through the Somoza dungeons that have now been turned into a museum.

Beautiful and historic place, it was nice to know all the things that happened in that place and all the crimes committed during the revolution, you can see all Managua from there.

Challege to find entrance, there is no sign. Driving in managua is a wild ride with rotarys , lots of traffic, very few signs, and no rules. We visited park on weekday, no other tourists, but felt safe. There is security and tour guides. We had a great tour of past prison area from Ulysis, who has english. .

The former presidential palace at the Tiscapa crater lake rim was destroyed by an earthquake. At the highest point there is now a statue of Sandino's silhouette -his... More

This place is a must visit while in Managua. There is so much history. Try going early in the morning when it is not too hot, specially if you are traveling with children. Enjoy a lovely view of Managua and Xolotlán -the Lake.

The Loma de Tiscapa is an important historical point for the citizens of Nicaragua as it is where in 1934 the general Augusto C. Sandino was arrested after signing a peace treatment and having dinner with President Juan Bautista Sacasa and general Anastasio Somoza Garcia, who was the first director of the National Guard. This is where the Presidential Palace... More

Beautiful panoramic view. Some interesting exhibits on Somaza. There is a zip line canopy tour for adventurous that costs otherwise everything is free. Very worth doing. If you have teens and young adults they'd like the canopy tour
