Nice views once you hike to the top. At first look, it seems abandoned. No signs directing to the highest point in the city. Overlooks the city and the Canal Pacific side locks. It's worth the hike. Don't give up.

Myself and a friend arrived via a white taxi from our hotel in the city, during an epic thunder & lightning tropical storm in mid-August. The driver dropped us off at the bottom of a set of steps, near a security checkpoint. Follow the sloped...More

Lucky to get a clear view on top, not crowded at all. Be prepared to deal with the heat and get a bottle of water to hike. The way is not that steep and should be ok even if you are not sportive. We appreciated...More

If you like walks and views, you'll like Ancon Hill. The view on top is nice, and the walk there is peaceful, with the road being closed off for all except working vehicles (we only encountered one). You have to be prepared for a longer...More

What a view. You can feel the history of the area from up there. We loved it and I hate hikes! The old city, canal and the stories too!

I love getting outside-rain or shine. This is a long hike up and it is rather difficult to find. That said, the path up is paved and excellent exercise. I recommend you have plenty of water, bug spray, sun block, good walking shoes. Catch an...More

We took an Uber to the base and walked up the road to the top. It was a good hike and made good workout. Most of the walk is on pavement and steps. We didn't go until later in the day due to rain but...More

This is a great hike to see both sides of downtown Panama city and the Canal ports. You may want to do this hike during raining season cause you may be able to spot blue frogs and deers

Go early as the humidity becomes a little too much to deal with. Not a long hike, but uphill. Once you reach the top, excellent views of Panama City and the Canal.

The climb to the top of Ancon Hill would not be closed as it's an outdoor hiking road. I would guess that the beautiful Port Authority building, as a government building, would be closed on weekends. Enjoy!
