Monkey Island Tour from Panama City

172 reviews
Monkey Island lies on Gatun Lake, along the Panama Canal, and is renowned for its large population of monkeys, along with other wildlife. On this tour, set sail on a scenic riverboat cruise around the lake and the Chagres River; look out for wildlife such as slothes, iguanas, and crocodiles; and spot four different types of monkey on the island—mantled howler, white-faced capuchin, Geoffroy’s tamarin, and lemurine owl monkeys.

Great place to stay, relax and enjoy the culture, food and night life. This is a small section of Panama city in which you can walk everywhere. The security is very very good because the national police headquarters and the President's home is located here. The are many museums, historic squares, shopping, restaurants and bars all in one location.

Casco is a nice place to walk around and enjoy the refurbished old buildings. There are several restuarants and snack shops and bars. It is well worth have a tour guide to tell you about the vast history here. Living in Panama this is one of the go to places to take visitors. Ask around to see the giant nativity scene. It is huge and set up year round. Have not been since the Cathedral was renovated. The Opera House has been renovated but not open because of Covid, but the online pictures look beautiful. There is a promenade area that have local vendors. Hopefully things open up soon in 2021

Nice walk in a Historic area . I went there 01/21/2021 but everything was closed and only saw 4 other people on the walk It was 6:30 pm and was greatly disappointed that nothing was opened I did see lots of Uber eats motor bikes possibly getting takeout food from a few places I think it’s better to wait until it opens up It seems like a great area

I visited during COVID days, and pretty much had the entire town to myself. There was still plenty of restaurants, shops, and churches for me to visit, and they followed strict sanitation rules. A place to admire architecture and history.
