Interesting displays on 4 floors. We missed spending time on the 4th floor since we hurried back down to the theatre for a mini-movie. We were hoping the movie would explain the locks but it was more about the passage of time in the area....More
As part of our tour of Panama city were bussed to the Visitor Centre where we were given pre-paid tickets for entry to the place and after walking up the stairs (there is an elevator) we entered the building. We were then told about a...More
A must do when visiting Panama City. This building has four stories with comprehensive historical, technical and botanical displays on each level. The 4th floor, which is covered from the sun, gives the best views of the locks and, if you time it right, you...More
My wife and I decided to take an UBER to locks and buy entrance tickets there. We also bought tickets to the IMAX movie. This saved us approximately 40% from taking a organized tour…plus the saving in time and hotel pickups. Entrance fee to visitor...More
Very intertersting and a must see in Panama. Make sure you go early in morning to catch the most boats going thru the Locks. Museum on multiply levels was very interesting and informative. Was not a fan of the movie offered.
Seeing the canal in real life was so much better than any picture. The museum and movie are a great way to start your time there. Make sure you have time to browse and read some of the history. There are some great displays and...More

I find your question a little confusing ??do you want to go to the visitors center and see the Mira Flores locks and also experience the ride thru the locks and canal. I was only there once but we used the hop on /off bus($34 for one day/$37 for two days) to see most of panama city. You can check their routing and see if it suits you)The Maria Flores has a small museum($) and a grandstand to view ships going thru the Locks. I (and my wife)found the old city very interesting using the self walking guide. Taxi's are very reasonable and everyone uses American $$.
