There is a museum where you can understand the difficulties faced to build the Canal and the solutions taken.

A very nice place to visit. Yes, it's quite expensive for just looking ($15 per person), but the museum and film are quite good (and very patriotic). Definitely check what time you visit. Ships usually only come by here early in the morning or late...More

This is a very unique visitor center at a very unique site. The models in the museum are outstanding. The history of the canal build is exceptional. The view from the platform is awesome. I want to go back.

Excellent place to see a history and a ship go through the locks but go early. I went using the red On/Off bus.

This famous place was built by the USA for Panama. It allows hundreds of ships to cross from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean and vice versa. Saves these ships time, fuel and lots of money.

Miraflores Visitor Center offers a great history of the construction of the canal, a great restaurant - though VERY expensive - and a chance to view a ship lock through. Well worth the time and money.

It was a great experience I highly recommend that you be there before 9am when the ships come though the canal.
