Founded in 1986, Abita was the first craft brewery to open in the Southeast. Today, we produce 160,000 barrels of beer annually in a range of great tasting, unpretentious styles including Abita Amber, Purple Haze, and Wrought Iron IPA. Located just north of New Orleans, we recently completed a three-year, $30 million state-of-the-art expansion of the brewery that will increase our capacity to 400,000 barrels while introducing groundbreaking environmental advancements to the brewing process.

We went for a tour and sampled the beers! Very nice place. Not a fan of the chocolate soda but the strawberry beer was good. My husbands favorite was the Andygator!

It was cool. Great new taproom and such but we drove over an hour to visit. If we didn't love Abita, it wouldn't have been worth it. So it's your decision if you have to make a trek there. Great variety of beer and merchandise.

Free soda samples and games. Tour free for kids and five dollars for adults includes 5 drink samples of beer and/or sodas. Friendly patriotic staff. Met two WWII veterans who visit periodically.

Awesome tour. Daryl & Rick did a great tour. At $5 for a guided tour, it's a good value and you get 4 tokens for 4 oz beers. An added plus is the samples they will give you.

We have made the Abita Brewery a stop on two different trips and it keeps on getting better. This is a growing Brew and they are working for perfection. The Technological changes made in the ten year visit gap were amazing. Try it, if beer...More
