My daughter and 8 year old granddaughter were here from Florida and signed up for the Mommy & Me ski lesson. Al was their instructor and he was excellent!!! He was very patient, spoke in language they could plainly understand and gave them an hour and 15 minutes! They both had fun, learned how to ski, enjoyed the snow and no one was hurt. I’d never thought of Lost Valley as an option, but it was on the way to the airport, had plenty of snow where most resorts had none to little, was clean, had great food after the lesson and everyone was friendly (as most all Mainers are!)! Perfect day!!

Went Skiing and Tubing here for the first time. Not a bad place. Everyone was masked up expect for a few customers but I wasn’t near them. The lodge is a little dated but I came to ski and tube, not to hang in the lodge. Rental process was AMAZING!!! I’ve never had better rental service! The chairlifts are small and only 2 person making getting on and off a little bit of a struggle but wasn’t that big of a problem. Slopes were easy and well maintained. Tubing was fun and well processed. To get up to the top of the tubing hill a staff member would hook your tube on a wire which would pull you to the top. My past experience with this type of lift at other places has not always been the best. The tube can spin around and you can’t see we’re your going and don’t know when to “roll” off. Here however, there was a slope that you went down that would let you know when it was time to get off and you don’t have to roll out either. One you got to the top, you speed down to the bottom in your tube which was fun but the slow down carpets kinda hurt but not enough to take the fun out. While we were waiting in line we watched people link up on tubes and go down that way but when we tried, we were told it was not allowed. I then told the staff member up top that other people were linking up and his response was “I know. I’m just doing what I was told.” I understand he was just trying to do his job so I let it go. Wasn’t even mad. Just confused why he let the people before and after us link up but not us. I also saw nothing about “no linking” on the rules. Still had fun tubing and skiing though and will be back.

This is such a great learning mountain! I came with my kids and we all learned to ski for the first time. The lessons include a lift ticket, which is SUCH a great deal. We did a group lesson and private lessons, and the instructors are wonderful! The greens are really fun, and I miss them after going back to MA and skiing on some greens that literally just go in a straight line down. The lodge is cozy, and prices are so reasonable - not marked up at all for being a ski lodge! Can't wait to make the trip to LV again, and I am so glad that we came here to learn.

Daughter paid for a Mommy & Me ski lesson. Unfortunately, assigned to Thomas who was completely disinterested in doing anything but getting back into the lodge. Thomas had no idea how to engage with, much less guide, a 6 year old, The parent had to do all the instructing while Thomas remained bored, distracted and in a hurry to get it over with. A bit before the paid lesson was over he declared, 'I'm calling it, it's cold'. I have video footage of him waiting at the bottom of the slope while the 6 year old struggled to learn how to make a 'pizza' to slow her descent. At one point, when she fell on the magic carpet another instructor hurried over to help her. Other than Thomas, 10 year old grandson had an excellent lesson with another instructor (not sure of the name). Also, brew pub staff was friendly, efficient, attentive and excellent. Recommend LV in general but just not with Thomas as your paid instructor.

Excellent experience, first time skiing. Staff bent over backwards to accommodate even while they were incredibly busy with holiday crowd. Nick was an excellent instructor. Slopes had full coverage even though it hadn't snowed much yet this year. Would go again for sure.

First time visitors; our girls hadn’t been skiing for awhile, and since we were in Portland it was a quick hop up to the mountain. Perfect spot for non-pros, plaid they had really well groomed Nordic trails for the adults and an excellent brewpub. Loved the Pilsner and Otterslide IPA. Very pleasant staff with lift tickets and rentals. Girls had a great time — perfect outing if you don’t require big time ski trails. Appropriately priced. Highly recommended!

We had a very nice evening, good food, good beer and the singer was very entertaining. The outdoor seats look toward the ski slopes so is a very pleasant place to hang out and have a few drinks and a meal. The servers seemed a little overworked the night we were there but did well.

Our wedding was September 7, 2014 and it was beautiful! Everything went smoothly and according to plan EXCEPT Connie King. I went with this vendor because she was polite and returned my calls and emails promptly...until she got our deposit of $500. After that, she became demanding and overbearing and continued to mention how "accommodating" they were yet would not allow me to do most of what I wanted to decorate to make the space ours for the day. Any services we asked for that should have been no issue always came at a price. I even planted my own grass because she doesn't take good care of the property. As she said many times to different things I brought up, she couldn't afford it. As a customer and bride, the last thing I need from the owner of my wedding venue is to hear about her money problems. We ordered sirloin tips as one of the meal choices and it came out looking like dog food and was all chopped up into little bits with a TON of mushrooms. Mushrooms were not in the description of the meal and had I known that was going to be the majority of the food, I would not have chosen it. Connie promised she would have pretzels and popcorn out during cocktail hour (which I why I did not order hors d'oeuvres) yet I found out they were not put out for people to eat at all. The ATM had no money in it even though it was a cash only bar. Connie agreed to have the tables and chairs with the chair covers we purchased all set up and ready by the time our wedding started at 4:30pm. We made this arrangement because she was planning on having her staff setting up the chairs outside at 3:30 and the way we wanted them we were not comfortable that they would be finished by the time guests started arriving. We made it clear to her more than once (as did my mom) that we did NOT want any set up happening while guests were there at all. When I returned to Lost Valley at 6:15 from Bates College for our photos I found out she was just finishing putting the chair covers on.
I gave Connie an itinerary that our DJ/MC made yet she was still following me around trying to get me to do things in the order SHE wanted although she was told specifically that if there was a problem she needed to speak to my mom or the DJ. The water and napkins were removed from all the tables before the cake was served so our guests had dessert and were dancing but had nothing to drink. She stood in front of my mom and another guest when my husband and I were cutting our cake so they couldn't even see. My Aunt found a small but deep depression in the floor that was not marked and ended up falling and braking her wrist in 3 places and chipped a bone. She was taken by ambulance to the ER and has since undergone surgery. There was no last call at the bar so when my husband and I went to get a drink, the bar was shut and the bartender turned us away. All that was left was a small pitcher of water and some plastic cups...classy! When we paid the final balance the check was accidentally made out for $40 extra so my dad told her to put in on a bar tab for me and we didn't use it and she didn't return the money. She stole from my dad! A couple weeks before the wedding I also had to ask her to clean the vents in the ceiling because they were covered in a layer of filth and I didn't want that falling onto guests plates while they were eating. I would stay away from this place. She is a control freak and a poor business owner, which is probably why she is begging for donations to keep the place open. The relatively cheap price of this place is not worth the headache of dealing with the run down building or Connie.

I am 50 and have lived in Lewiston/Auburn all my life and this is my first time skiing. I signed up for the "learn how to ski" program. The staff was AMAZING! I never felt like and idiot. Every one was helpful beginning in the rental area where they helped me put my boots on. The instructor was friendly, kind, and humble. When I feel off the lift when getting off, the attendant helped me up, I thanked him and apologized, he kindly said, its okay, the is the place to learn". Thank you for a great day.

Ok, Yeah its Small. But, My wife and I date skied for 3 hours during a POWDER STORM.. I don't care what hill your on top of when its dumping..IT's SKIING. We had a great time under the lights quick runs but also quick lift time .. perfect to chat and then descend .. Its wide and has lots of options.. to explore.. a few little narrow old school trails and some open slopes. a couple nice pitches and the lodge has some romance with a large woodstove heating up the open area adjacent to the bar .. Priced right and full of good times.
