This was a trip back in time to the French and Indian War period. Our guide did an outstanding job on his presentation of the building, the objects inside and the fort. It was an educational and historical presentation. I agree with another reviewer, this...More

Amazing details about every stage of life the fort had. Great guides who not only know the history but want to tell it. Also getting to hold three types of cannon balls and run through the steps of firing a cannon was awesome.

A great place to visit for both adults and children. They have people dressed in the time period and they answer your questions as if they where in the time.

The guides are in costume and walk you through the different sections, very open to answering questions and pointing out the unique historical items. Very interesting experience, awesome seeing some of the original items from the fort's history. Some things are replicas, of course, but...More

This place is for history buffs that are into what happened over two hundred years ago in Augusta Maine. The upkeep is reasonable. It does give you a picture of how things used to be.

It was round-about to find this fort (even with GPS). But, the views on the river are beautiful. And, the fort has a nice history. The tour was inexpensive, but informative. I would recommend it for kids and adults.
