Beautiful Spa
Aug. 2020 • Solo
I booked a 90 minute massage and a manicure/pedicure on 8/29/20. Pamela did my massage and she was amazing! I felt very relaxed afterwards, that is until I met Catina and my mani/pedi appointment started. She brought me into a room and she had me sit at the manicure station. Upon looking at my nails, she commented on how short they are. I asked if she could just do her best to clean them up
(trim cuticles and paint). She then asked if I would like shellac or regular polish and that shellac is stronger so I opted for the shellac. She then said the shellac may peel easy because of the length of my nails. So then I said well let’s just do regular polish. Catina said oh so you are changing your mind. I said yes based on you saying it may peel. I don’t really want to pay more for something that may not stay on($10). She acted put out and said well the price is the same ( at that time I mentioned I had looked at pamphlet and I believe that it was $10 more. We decided on regular polish and she finished the manicure. She then started the pedicure and commented on how terrible my feet and heels look. She asked do you go barefoot a lot? Do you have something against wearing socks and shoes? My answer was I like to go barefoot/wear flip flops in the summer. I literally considering just getting up and leaving at that point. Just when I thought it could not get worse. She began telling me about her personal life. She had just gone through a divorce, her husband’s decision, not hers, and that between them they have 7 children. She said that she thinks he is going through a mid life crisis or maybe that she is just in denial and she is a terrible person. To try and cut the awkwardness I shared with her that sometimes things just don’t work out, you know no one goes into marriage thinking that it is going to end in divorce but sometimes divorce is for the best. I shared with her that I had been through a divorce, and it was the best decision I had made based on behaviors of my former spouse. I encouraged her to focus on her and her children and that things do get easier once you get in a routine. Upon leaving I felt bad for her. And I considered not leaving this review for that reason. But I paid around $116 for this service and yes I did leave the 18% suggested gratuity ($20ish) because Catina did complete the service. But if I based the tip on the “experience” with her it would have been zero. My tip would be try and be a little more selective in what you share with a patron. People come to the spa to relax, not to be sucked into someone else’s issues. At least after the spa services I was able to use the facility’s indoor pool/hot tub. I was able to de stress from that Catina experience which was pleasant.

Very Respectfully,
Sherry S.

Breathe in, breathe out

The Senator Inn is the place to be for total body and mind care. The surroundings are most relaxing, the services are top notch and the feeling you get with the exceptional staff working there is very rewarding.

Best massages we've had in a while. Big, clean facility.
Aug. 2019
My boyfriend and I booked two massages and this came with admittance to the indoor pool, hot tub and saunas. The pool and hot tub are both of a good size and inside of a large airy room. I do wish there had been more lounge chairs, there were only 6 in the atrium. There is an outdoor area with tables and lounge chairs available as well. There is an outdoor heated pool, but no outdoor hot tub. There were ample clean towels everywhere. Our massages came with two comfy robes and slippers, which I appreciated. I liked that there was an actual co-ed sauna, many other spas I've been to do not have this amenity. The women's locker room is huge and clean, it has a sauna and showers. There was a hair dryer and plenty of mirrors in the locker room. Unlike some spas there was not mouthwash, q-tips, throwaway combs, etc. which is fine for me. My boyfriend reports that the men's locker room is small and very basic. The sauna in the men's locker room was not working, maybe they have plans to renovate this space soon. I'm happy to report the day we were there there were no children or loud people. Quiet seemed to be respected by all guests, which was so nice. For the massage you receive a code to go into the "services" wing of the spa, which is on the 3rd floor. There is an elevator. There is a small seating area with magazines, windows, some tea and water. I noticed there were cocktail/wine/drink menus in this area, but I did not order anything. We had booked 2 ninety minute massages. Often times this really means they kind of lop off 10 minutes in the front and the end, but not these ladies. We got two 90 minute massages! and more importantly they were quality. The pressure was on point and they respected the silence that we so enjoy during a massage. Thank-you Phoebe and Torri, well done! If we lived in the area, The Senator Spa would be a monthly habit for us!

Top quality Spa, Pool and Gym
Aug. 2019
I am a regular gym member for the past 3 yrs, best money I have ever spent. Mike does a great job with the pool, the staff is alway positive, knowlegable, friendly and go out of the way to make one feel special and welcomed. Today I would especially like to acknowledge Emily H. at the Spa desk who always goes above and beyond, saving me a cup of decaf was extra special, Lord knows I really needed it today. l most enjoy the salt water pool and hot tub gives me something to be thankful for. Kudos to the staff.

Not good
Mar. 2018 • Solo
I went for a 90 minute massage and when I timed it, my massage was only 70 minutes. During my massage the guy kept stopping, walking around and adjusted the sheets every two seconds making it very hard to relax. I would recommend going somewhere else!

Disappointed
Oct. 2017 • Couples
I found a lady's fake fingernail on the carpet going into the bathroom. Yuck! Our room had a damaged door casing that was very banged up going into the bathroom. There was no place for a toiletry bag except on the top of the toilet. We shortened our trip by staying near the highway but will go a little further next year to stay elsewhere.
