This garden is a perfect example of a pre-Revolutionary War garden.

Interesting historic home

The tour of the William Paca house and gardens is really informative and interesting to learn about the Paca's and Annapolis.

The William Paca House Garden is actually several gardens in one, with formal sections separated by hedges. In winter the holly section is particularly pleasant and the boxwood section nearby provides a pleasing aroma. If you visit in spring or summer the flower sections (roses, annuals) should be very pleasant. The herb section has a very large and old rosemary... More

I LOVE this location! It's a five-part Georgian historic home of a signer of the Declaration of Independence built in 1763, filled with period artifacts including Charles Willson Peale paintings and John Shaw furniture. The docents are extremely knowledgeable and tell great stories about both local and national history, as well as the lives of wealthy Annapolitans, indentured and convict... More

The garden is behind one of three historic houses open for visits in downtown historic Annapolis; the other two are the Hammond Harwood House and the Chase-Lloyd House. The guide we had was knowledgeable and interesting.

We've attended a few events at the Paca House over the years, but just recently stopped in as we had an hour to kill before heading to something. It was a sleepy Monday afternoon and I was with my first-grade daughter. We just happened to catch a tour—and how lucky we were! Our guide was previously a history teacher—and made... More

I stopped by here on a Sunday and the tour was okay. The gardens are lovely, but the house is fine. The guide was a bit patronizing and was a bit too heavy of a emphasis on the American revolution and less about the house itself.

We visited William Paca House and Garden on a beautiful Monday in October. The garden was tremendous - a fabulous restoration of an exquisite colonial garden. We happily paid the AAA discounted rate of $9 each for the full-house tour. The tour was given by a well-spoken woman who was both knowledgeable and appreciative of this really interesting property. We... More

The gardens are really lovely unless they are ruined by a wedding tent but you can still walk around and see the area. We also took a tour of the historic home and learned a lot about the Paca family and 18th century Annapolis. I highly recommend if you want to experience some history instead of shopping the day away.

The WIlliam Paca house is a nice example of a period house with lots of Paca-owned furniture and artifacts. The tour was particularly good because of the knowledge and personality of the docent, a former history teacher (whose name I forgot - sorry).
