If you enjoy perusing boats who's owners want you to see them, you'll enjoy this huge slip at the bottom of Main Street in Annapolis.

We enjoyed walking along Ego Alley. It was interesting to see some of the older boats, which were quite picturesque. Also, we got a good view out over the water from here. It was worth the short walk to get there.

As the name says, it's where all the 'egocentrics' have to pull into, turn around, showing their skills on doing so, showing off their boats.

Ego alley is aptly named, as people drive their boats down it specifically for the purpose of others ogling it. The bigger the better, although you get some junk too. Great place to sip a cold drink at a number of bars on the alley...More

You can sit back and watch the boats docking, the water taxis and the steam boats (tour). There is a limited parking area (PAID metered). Lots of places to eat and around the corner from the Naval Academy. Sometimes there people making and selling crafts.

A beautiful waterfront location to view watercraft of all types. Especially wonderful during the semi annual boat shows that feature sailing yachts and power boats for every taste and budget. Lots of local food and drink for the hungry and thirsty. Parking can be a...More

As part of the complete downtown Annapolis, its nice and adds to the total ambiance. As a standalone attraction its a dock/marina with a bunch of boats. If you want a historic seaport, try Mystic Connecticut. If you want to see a few mega yachts,...More

I can't tell you how many times I've wandered down to Ego Alley to unwind and allow my mind to take a vacation. Sitting on a bench on the water's edge (well not quite, but close), I watch the boats, power, sail and dingies, on...More

Plenty of bars and places to eat, for adults and families, nice shops but parking can be difficult, and it's metered pay parking.

Nice place to watch the world float by... amazing display of watercraft from SUPs to mega-yachts and everything inbetween.

Certainly, and there are many outdoor cafes that allow dogs. Indoors is not allowed because of silly health dept rules. Not as liberal as Europe, but outdoors is fine.

If he likes boats he will like this area in summer. I'd suggest a ride around the harbor however. Might be more fun for a 7 year old. Would definitely take the Naval Academy tour. Lot more to see for a younger child.
