The Hammond Harwood House is the Jewel of Annapolis, preserved intact since 1774. In addition to its magnificent, perfectly preserved architecture inside and out, this National Historic Landmark contains an outstanding collection of John Shaw furniture and Charles Willson Peale paintings.

Barrie and Howard were very personable and extremely knowledgeable. Many beautiful period pieces and paintings. If you like historic houses, this one is well worth a visit.

Knowledgeable docent. Many many paintings on the walls (lost track of all the details). Different rooms have different eras represented. Very crowded with many interesting pieces.

The house has an interesting history and our guide knowledgeable. There is a small gift shop with interesting items. It across the street from another historic house - Chase Lloyd House, and a brief walk from the William Paca House and garden.
