I don't think that the story is true about the naming of the bridge, just an attempt to glamourise it. Virtually says so on the plaque. Interesting that it was built by convicts so long ago and still in use, even though some of it was washed away by floods. Good place to buy bananas nearby.

Stop passed the Cemetery to view the plaque that explains the Bloody Bridge story! If you can clamour down, do so and look through the culvert. Amazing building skills for the time. Beautiful arch and stone work.

Really just an unremarkable stone bridge with a story that may or may not be true, or exaggerated. Has been restored, but only to its original half width.

Located on Driver Christian road, on the SSE section of the island. There is a couple of places where you can park just off the road, and complete a short walk to the bridge, and view it from different angles. Interesting story behind the name. A nice stone bridge in a quiet area. No need to spend more than 15... More

It is worth going and looking at the bridge and the area around it, the waterfall is just down the road and is a great spot to have a stroll, you can't really see the waterfall but you can see the creek going to it and the view out to sea is worth the walk.

Norfolk Island has a number of interesting historical locations, among which Bloody Bridge is quite memorable - a group of convicts were unhappy with their treatment at the hands of a guard who was supervising them during construction, and decided to get revenge by bludgeoning him to death before walling up the body in the bridge! When the overseer arrived... More

This history behind this bridge is gruesome... but interesting. Nice bridge to take photos of too, so don't forget your camera.

You can't help but think of the convicts making this structures, and how solid they are, nestled in a piece of paradise.

Just near the cemetry. Very interesting story behind it all. While you are on Norfolk you can buy Bloody Bridge Gin. A great memento

I am somewhat skeptical of the alleged "bloody" history this bridge has had as I have heard similar stories before about other bridges. Needless to say if you cannot find it then just keep driving to the end of Quality Row and go past the cemetery and you will find it. It is very small and is dark and aged... More
