Kingston is a very interesting area of NI, with many historical buildings in various states of repair. The Barracks are well preserved and show us what living conditions were like almost 200 years ago. The Barracks are part of a wider collection of historic, and very photographic, buildings.

Visit the Barracks to get an idea of the early Penal Settlement. It was a hard place to live in those days, but it is part of our history and well worth the visit.

You can wander at will around the area of the convict settlements. There is plenty of information around to help you understand the various buildings.
