Barely waves - great for small children. Sand bars are out really far and can walk to it during the day. Water is so calm it feels like your at a lake. Playground at beach closer to parking a lot away from the beach.

Typical New England beach - a bit rocky, so-so sand, tricky walking, stinks at low tide, etc. But the water is clear, salty, and refreshing on a hot day. Has a play area for kids, which is nice, and a few sandbars. Also has a...More

We wanted a beach that had facilities and was convenient to town. Jetties Beach is a short Waze bus ride from town or probably about a mile walk from the town center. It is a narrow beach with pretty dunes, views and shallow, calm waters....More

Excellent family location for a day at the beach. Water is not deep and the sand bar allows for a nice shallow area for kids to play. The water is warm and there is even a restaurant on the beach where you can grab lunch...More

We went Kayaking, had lunch at a super restaurant and then spent time on the beach. Need to be prepared for all of the shells in the sand; one big toe with a cut, but the restaurant gave us a bandage for it.

we rented bikes at the port pier and cycled to this beach which took about 5 minutes. There is a restaurant there that serves food and a place to store the bikes. The water is clear and the beach pristine. Lifeguards are on duty.

This is really all you are looking for in a beach and the usual spot to stop on Nantucket. Take a nice walk and head over from downtown.

Sorry guys....unless you have little ones, don't bother w/ this beach. SO packed, rocky shells and seaweed all over...shallow water, but who cares, it's cold anyway....go to STEPS beach instead!

Jetties Beach is the perfect beach for all ages. The beach itself is beautiful and it is not too far from downtown. The sandbar just off the shore allows for younger kids to enjoy themselves, and the Sandbar (restaurant) on the beach allows for everyone...More

We were on the island for the day and once we bored of shopping in town we took an uber out to Jetties Beach (a 5 minute ride). The kids loved going out to the sandbar and just staying the water. The beach was crowded...More
