We went on a jeep tour of the Refuge. The beaches are beautiful and we saw tons of birds and seals. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and excellent. Definitely the best part of our trip.

Well, might be nice - but we will never know. We made a reservation to be picked up in town and the driver never showed. After repeated calls, they finally called back 1/2 hr after the pickup time and said the driver made a mistake....More

Choose between a tour, renting an overland-vehicle, a very long hike, but get to the reserve. Yes it's expensive: In the shoulder season (June) a licensed 'Over-Sand' Jeep costs about $200. when it's all said and done. $45. for the entry (vehicle and all passengers)....More

If you have a half day with nothing to do then look into the tour to the refuge (they were not operating every day when we were there in mid June). The our is a little pricey ($60 per adult) but worth it. Thee area...More
