I think is one of the most beautiful beach in Nantucket. and the cool thing is that the airport is near. so you can see the planes near you

Visited Nobadeer Beach in July of 2020. After a big storm, the waves were quite rough, about 4 to 6 feet. It was decent for boogie boarding, but a bit rough. Temperature was about 66 degrees F - not bad for NE but if you are in for a long time, wear a wet suit. A couple days later, the water was calm, with few waves. There is a big drop off not far from shore, so you will soon find yourself over your head. Surfers were able to ride and were fun to watch. There were life guards, but we found them to be less than attentive. Plenty of people drove there 4WD vehicles on the beach, some getting stuck (guess you need to deflate the tires a bit), and planes flew right over. We saw a few seals playing as they swam just off shore. People fished too. Surfside beach is next to Nobadeer and you can walk (about 20 to 30 minutes) to its snack stand, which is very very good. There is a surf school at Nobadeer. We were staying nearby and were able to ride our bikes to the beach; the parking lot has racks to lock them up. There are a few trails near the lot you can walk around. Note that the trucks seem to bring a party atmosphere and they left some sordid detritus on the beach, sadly, but it wasn't an awful experience. Overall, a pretty sweet beach.
