Wish we had more time to spend, but will come back again and plan on dedicating an evening to the Observatory. An amazing experience for adults and children who appreciate science, astronomy and education in general. The 100 year old plus telescope is quiet amazing.

The staff will find the best things to see through the telescope and the powerful lens will give you a new perspective on the night sky. A great learning experience and a good kids activity.

We saw a globular cluster of stars 22,000 light years away, and an amazing moon. Also, the international space station graced us with a fly-by. Great talk about the constellations too. A must see for young and old alike!

What a unique and fun night out on Nantucket. We first learned about the Loines Observatory on our first trip to Nantucket two years ago when we stumbled upon the Vestal Street Observatory. We were invited to look at the sun through a special solar...More

We just returned from the open night at the Loines Observatory. Saturn was seen from one of the telescopes and Messie 13 (a cluster of stars) in the other. The constellation tour was also fantastic. The stars where beautiful and the staff very helpful. Go...More

I really liked seeing the Moon and Saturn. I didn't expect to see the rings around Saturn. but when I did it was an amazing sight. There wasn't one thing I didn't like about the observatory. Also, the staff were very friendly, and they were...More
