Huge Chocomuseo with tons of local artisanal gifts and treats to enjoy! However I encountered a snag when the reception mistook my booking for a chocolate class not a cookery one and I missed part of my class, so double check your booking.

My host also just ran off at the end of the class never to be seen again so I felt a awkward after that. Otherwise, it was a great experience that I would love to visit again, especially as this Chocomuseo seemed better developed and decorated than others I've been to.

Oh' what fun I had during this workshop. Our guide Frank/Juan was informative and entertaining. He helped a group of 7-8 strangers become competitive comrades. My final chocolate bar was a hot a$$ mess, but I had lots of fun and laughter!

My husband, myself and two kids (8 & 10 yrs old) did the Chocolate class with Orlando and it was awesome! We all enjoyed it and learned a lot. Orlando was just as attentive with our kids as he was with us and the other 3 adults in the class. It was a great 2 hours filled with many laughs and yummy chocolate. You make 3 chocolate drinks and your own chocolate bar. Great way to learn some history and get a treat.

Been going to this store for several years now and buying gelato. Four of us came today, 18 Nov 2023 and we bought 4 large cups of gelato and went to sit in the back eating the gelato. After a short time we were told twice by different employees that we can't sit there because we did not buy anything. Two other tables were occupied with people having only drinks and no one complained to them about them sitting there having their drinks.
We were also told in the past that we can not use the bathroom and we have bought gelato there
What is going on? I will write about how were treated on trip advisor.

My friend and I visited the choco museo earlier today and had an amazing experience! We bought the chocolate workshop for 180Q and it was well worth it. At first we had a history lesson about the origin of chocolate - after that the real fun began. Our guide so to speak, was a very nice guy named Orlando. He joked around and was very interactive with us, asking questions about where we were from etc. Orlando made the experience very fun and enjoyable! Such a nice guy
I can only recommend visiting the choco museum!

Kind regards, Frederik

Not the typical museum. The displays are rustic but interesting. I learned a lot about how chocolate is made from the farming of the cocoa beans to the chocolate bar. The highlight are the classes which give you hands on experience in chocolate making. Well worth the 2 hours. There is a restaurant on site that has good food at reasonable prices.
I can recommend this as something to do while in Antigua.

For our last day in Guatemala we decided to take their 2 hour long chocolate making class. Our class was just me and my boyfriend and our amazing teacher Frank. We learned about the history and culture of cocoa andchocolate, joked, laughed and had an unforgettable experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable, extremely kind, friendly, charismatic and a pleasure to be around. After a demonstration of how chocolate is made, we got to make three traditional cocoa drinks and even decorate our own chocolate bar. A great hands on experience and I cannot say enough how much fun we had and how delicious their chocolate is (the bar did not survive the day haha). Great value for money! Absolutely recommend the tour and our guide Frank to anyone looking for a unique experience:)

We came when it first opened in the morning so there was not too much going on. It is a cute place and was able to try the different kinds of chocolate. Would like to come back for a workshop to make chocolate.

My boyfriend and I took a cooking class at ChocoMuseo and it was the highlight of our trip. Our instructor, Gabby, was friendly, took time to explain everything, and answered all of our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking the Pepian stew and banana fritters dessert. We received the recipe and have made it since coming home and treated our family to it at Christmas! Thanks to Gabby for her wonderful hospitality!

Loved how friendly our hostess was and the entire experience was centered on teaching rather than selling a product. She made us feel welcome and made sure everyone in a 16-person group had fun. I completely recommend this for anyone who is visiting Antigua, Guatemala. The chocolate is also amazing.
