A visit to one of Russia's greatest poets

Pushkin was one of the most famous poets in Russia. If you are interested in Russian literature, or any kind of European literature, a visit to this place would be a real treat.

Very really liked the tour that was conducted by a young womna who works in this museum. It is a place for people who are interested in russian literature. Pushkin is shown from a fresh perspective, as a genius with some shortages, not as an idol. There are nothing much to see but the tour was really perfect.

Very nice little place, if you want to get a feel for how Pushkin lived. Or be amused by all the drawings on his manuscripts. Unfortunately there is no information whatsoever in other languages than Russian, so you might feel a bit left out. But for only 20 grivna, I wasn't too disappointed. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to take... More

We found the museum without any problem, but the staff was pretty stern and had no information in English at all. A printed sheet would have been helpful. They did offer to sell us an Odessa guidebook. The museum was a few rooms with lots of manuscripts and drawings. I did manage to make out the word Bakhchisarai in Russian,... More

In Odessa the streets are built on a grid system, so finding thevway is easier than many other cities. In one of the main streets and named after this Russian writer & poet, there is the former apartment where Aleksander Pushkin lived for about a year. Inside there are photographs and original manuscrips as well as period furniture and fittings.... More

Poor Pushkin! You really do not know the most famous Russian poet. Pushkin spent in Odessa 13 months. The museum is in the same building where he lived. If you are the lover of poetry you have to visit museum.

The museum is small and quiet. There are no guidebook or postcards available. However there are some notes in English. There are a number of paintings of Pushkin (many are modern) and plenty of pretty mementoes from his exile in Odessa where he wrote Bakhchysaray Fountain and some other important works. Worth a visit...takes about 15 minutes.
