This is a lovely memorial surrounded by forest. I found it quite moving walking down the path between the trees. Well worth a visit.

Typical seems like such a lame word to use, but in terms of Ukraine, this is very typical. Nearly every Ukrainian village/town/city has a WW2 memorial, many of them really big. I like the somber feeling, the way people actually take time to think about and honour what happened. There are several side memorials as you walk down the main... More

If you want to see interesting War Memorial with silence and nice forests around this is your place. There is an alltime burning fire front of the "Mother" statue.

This memorial is somber in the purpose, the grounds are kept beautiful. There are stone walks leading to trails if you enjoy walking in forest.

Starting from the road an impressive pink granit paved alley shows you the way to the Memorial itself . The place is solemn and instantly commands attention and respect , A special touch by the designer of the place is the sound - intented to be the sound of a heart - augments the already impressive atmosphere of the place

I was impressed by the history of this place. Many things I did not know as a westerner coming here. I would definitely recommend this place to see

Visited back in Oct 2013 when it wasn't nearly as dangerous, this great memorial was dedicated to those who perished during the Nazi-Soviet war back in 1941. Kharkov, as a hero city, had many civilians who were either killed or captured by the Nazis(( That was quite historical. As a commeration of our heroes, this memorial was created. Wonderful!
