Spent an hour looking at the range of objects in the City museum. Floors of displays showing Split's volatile history and growth. Helpful staff, displays labelled in English, no outstanding items, but they have made the most of their very varied collection.

Rainy day in Split, let's go to a museum! Got to the entrance just before a huge downpour. Perfect museum weather! Overall, it is an interesting museum, just not very big, Many of the big instructive items do have english descriptions,

I wish that more places would do the audiotours. I think that it cannot be much more work than multilingual interpretive signs. The museum is a bargain, you can do the whole thing in an hour, or take advantage of the air conditioning. I recommend...More

I wanted to go to one of the other two history museums, but it was Sunday so this was the only one that was open. I was most interested in the Roman section of the museum, which was very insightful. I visited this museum at...More

When you are in "old Split", this is a good to great place to see history, did not personally care for the 19th & 20th century part of their presentation but you do not have to look or read the panels. Worth the time and...More
