When the craziness of Dubrovnik gets too much head down to Old Town harbour, get on a ferry (tickets can be purchased just in front of the boat) and find a relaxing spot on the island. The best swimming spot we found was a right turn after heading out of the ferry and walking for about ten minutes basically to... More

I love this island so much! Cheap and easy to visit from the old town, with beautiful walks, tame peacocks & bunnies, a salty lagoon, bars, eateries, beaches, I can't think of a single way to improve this paradise.

Took the short ferry ride from the old port. The ferry did not take credit cards. The ferry was full but everyone managed to sit. The island is an oasis of calm , shady paths through the trees teeming with the sound of crickets, lots of seats dotted about to sit in the shade and enjoy the tranquillity. Peacock families... There are numerous opportunities and companies waiting to sell you a return seat on a boat to this island so get on one and make a day of a visit to Lokrum. There are some lovely walks, there's an old fort to explore, secluded beaches, a small lagoon and a couple of places to stop for lunch or a snack... More

The ferry service from Dubrovnik old harbour runs frequently and is easy to use. The island is beautiful with long walks round the coast or through the woods with plenty of flora and fauna to explore plus a few wild rabbits and many peacocks. There are plenty of places to swim and sunbathe and there is even a nudist beach... More

30 mins from Dobrovnic Old Port, boats go every half an hour, cost 100k return. Lovely island retreat away from the bustle of the city. The FKK beach is good and gets very busy, there are steps down into the sea to swim but it does get choppy as the many boats pass by. The Dead Sea salt lake is... More

My disabled partner and I visited Dubrovnik recently with family and friends for a birthday celebration. The birthday girl had arranged a surprise boat trip to Lokrum, a small, beautiful island just 600 metres off the coast of Dubrovnik old town. I am writing this from a disabled carer’s point of view. My partner uses an electric wheelchair, and we... More

Not much to do at the island, but boat ride to the island definitely worth the time spent. Fantastic views.

Little island in front of Dubrovnik dock. Very peacefully place where rabbit and peacock live free around there. Is possible to have a sit under trees or go to swim in many little beach. There's a natural salt lake in the middle of the island that leaved me wordless!
