The castle is situated on top of the central hill with very nice views at the city. It was built in 17th century by the Venetians on the remains of the old Roman buildings. Today the castle hosts The Historical and Naval Museum of Istria.

Unfortunately, the people of Pula do not take care of their historic sites. This place was littered with broken glass from alcohol bottles - everywhere. It seems to be the place for drinking late at night. It's right behind the Archaelogical Museum, just walk around...More

This is one of the !many fortresses around the city of Pula, built to defend their city. No time to enter.

You can see why the Venetians chose this site for their impressive fortress , it by far the highest spot , and could easily dominate the whole City . And in its day , it was also a very impressive piece of military engineering ,...More

Had a great time at the castle/fort. Was so impressed with the building and the exhibits which were on display at the time of our visit. We also found an amphitheatre behind the castle which was not advertised or charged to go in. Could not...More

The observation tower of the venetian fortress is the highest point in Pula so it offers a beatiful panorama over the whole city. At night you have a nice view over the Arena which is lit up. Also from the fortress you can see the...More

Not a must see, but definitely worth a visit f you have time. Great views, and a pleasant place to walk around. One interesting exhibition on dealing with fascism in Croatia around WWII, but otherwise not that much to see.

The Kasstel itself has not too much to offer itself, but it is a place where you can have a magnificent view on the whole city of Pula. And, in the night, you can watch the lit-up cranes at the shipyard with changing light colors....More

There are some great views of the city from here, especially from the tower. I would have liked a bit more info about the site. There's also an exhibition about the area in the 1940s-1960s. With so much of Pula's sights being about ancient history,...More

We loved the historical part of Pula and wanted to visit everyting. But this castle was rather boring and not much left of it. If you rly are in the history domain maybe you'll find some things interesting. Not for tourists that are not passionate...More

My teenagers are easy to please and found it interesting but not great. It's not the most exciting place to visit but somewhat historic never the less. Focus seemed to be more on recent century history then older culture that built it.
