The gate is nice enough but it's an old gate. I would say it's well preserved though and it's a good orientation point to visit the city.

The cities walls are very easy to navigate from any point of the Old Town. Whilst the City Gates still have the original features of the symbolic Italian Lion. It’s such a lovely setting by a small boating marina - with great views of the...More

The beautiful entrance is part of the wall that surrounds the old city of Zadar. It is near a park, restaurants and an old harbor. A wonder ancient city is just inside.

I have always loved how western civilization emerged. As a kid I could not understand or picture all the "movements" from one civilization to the next to what we are today. When you find a little space, maybe an old church or a corner bench,...More

Worth one visit...at one end if the main tourist street...forms a salutary effect to one end of the town....one can spend 20 - 30 mins there...

The lion of Venice stands boldly above the still active gate into Zadar City. To meet the lion at eye level, I suggest viewing from the quiet of the Queen Jelena Mdijevka Park.

Coastal town, a mix of old and new buildings and Roman remains. The famed Sea Organ was a little underwhelming (but may be better in the evening when there's often a light show. Good place for a leisurely stroll stopping for a coffee, and shopping.

It's wonderful to see how many of the old buildings and artefacts have been well preserved here in Zadar. This city gate is a great example of the architecture and history of the town. I loved it!

I wandered the old city and encountered each of the three old gates. Each was different and beautiful. Near them are information boards written in Croatian and English. They tell the history of the city, the area and the relationship and importance of the two...More
