OUTSTANDING! Dorosh Heritage Tours arranged our tours of Lviv and Kviv and the tour guides selected by Andriy were first class and most accomodating since we had several personal points of interest that we did not want to miss. Andriy was our personal guide and translator for the portion of our visit where we had a meeting scheduled with the Ternopil National Medical University and Andriy's translation skills were flawless. The second part of our tour was to visit the village where my father was born and as a young man he emigrated to Canada. The main purpose of our visit to the village was to hopefully find documents pertaining to our Ukrainian ancestry. Unfortunately, we failed. After many years or research in Canada we were also not very successful in tracing our family's history since many of the immigration records are inacurate. After we returned to Canada., Andriy was most helpful in initiating the search of the records in Ukraine and with the able assistance of Olia Waldman they were able to establish our family history in incredible detail going as far back as the early 1840's. We were speechless and to say this was an emotional event would be an understatement. PURE GOLD! Since this information became available after we returned to Canada, Andriy made a special trip back to the area and personally interviewed our closest living relative that he found who lives in Chortkiv and the relatives that are living in the village. Since our first contact in June of 2019 we have been in regular contact with Andriy and Olia to continue the research on both family and other projects. Andriy recently completed a virtual video tour of the family'svillage which is extremely well done and it is now a valuable part of our Ukrainian family ancestry library. Andriy is a true Ukrainian patriot and as such recently established a virtual video project on Kickstart which we are proud to be part of and the goal is to record the history of Western Ukraine under Soviet occupation before the stories of the people that lived through this brutal period are lost forever. Andriy has become a true friend and we consider him as family. Experience is June 2019 to present.

If I could rate Dorosh Heritage Tours a 10 out of 5 I would do it in a heartbeat ! Andriy is genealogist, researcher, planner, tour guide, interpreter, videographer and becomes a lifelong friend ! My sister and I went on a three week tour in 2017 of Ukraine. It was a trip of a lifetime; emotional, fun, educational and we have met relatives that we never knew we had and remain in contact.
He adapted to our needs and his presentation is top notch. He selected hotels that were extraordinary and tours that matched our interests. He has a team of people that he has carefully selected to maintain his impeccable business style. Our every need was met, a van that he cooled before our drives, a mini fridge in the van w cold drinks of our choice, restaurants that provided a variety of choices, luggage carried, doors opened … he is the ultimate gentleman ( never snickering at our middle age out of shape needs ).
After this phenomenal experience, my sister then contacted him again in 2021 to do a virtual tour of our two ancestral villages that we visited in 2017. And you are probably asking yourself if you saw it in person why would you want a virtual tour ?!! Well, when we watched the video we cried and laughed and promised to visit again. Andriy and his team created a keepsake. Again, his attention to detail did not go unnoticed.
He is an absolute treasure to the history of Ukraine and its people.
If you ever have the opportunity or desire to visit Ukraine, Dorosh Heritage Tours will not fail you. I recommend Andriy without hesitation !

Fortunately, we had two wonderfully planned and joyous experiences with Andriy! He planned a three week tour for my my sister and I including unforgettable stops in Poland and Ukraine and the ancestral villages of our grandparents. From the baptismal certificates he was able to bring us to the actual villages in western Ukraine that my grandparents were raised in before they immigrated to America. Andriy was our translator/driver/coordinator and also used a couple other tour guides in various areas. Because my knee got a little sore, he had no problem adjusting the itinerary. The transportation in his large comfortable van always included cold water bottles. We were traveling during a heat wave and this was just terrific. Andriy is an enjoyable , professional, knowledgeable and fun heritage tour guide. To call him a tour guide is such an understatement. We did not expect beautiful comfortable hotels and every stop. He limited the amount of driving per day so that we could enjoy ourselves. Andriy would accompany us wherever we went. We are two middle aged women and occasionally just wanted to sit and take in the beauty. From the top of the Tatra mountains to the beauty of Lviv and of course the villages….this was the best trip of my life and we are so glad we actually did it. Please email me at kchiodo@roadrunner.com if you need any questions. Please don’t delay your trip. After Covid had passed it will be the trip of your lifetime.
We also asked Andriy to do a virtual tour of our ancestral villages. He sent it last week. He was able to find a relative that verified bits of information I heard as a child. The video brought me to tears, literally. It was professionally and beautifully done.. The hardships of our ancestors were clear and those that survived such circumstances are my heros. I have added people to “my family” that I will cherish forever. This is a nice time to ask Andriy to do his virtual tour option with covid. He also does genealogy and may be able to find ancestors.
This trip and his virtual tour went way beyond our expectations !!

We met Andriy Dorosh in 2013 through a trip advisor review on a Ukraine forum. What a wonderful find that was! When we visited Lviv that fall , he arranged a guide to escort us to Bavoriv looking for my husbands maternal grandfather’s family. Without any prior research or knowledge we amazingly managed to find family nearby in Grabovets.
Andriy had impressed us with his friendliness , professionalism and enthusiasm . Since then I have followed him on FB in hopes of returning to Ukraine and touring with him.
This summer when Andriy posted about doing virtual tours due to the pandemic, I had the idea to look for my husbands maternal grandmother as a surprise 70th birthday gift.
Andriy’s professional researcher, Olga , did an amazing job researching 270 people from 80 families to potentially locate living relatives. Andriy and his team visited Grabovets and Bavoriv filming the surrounding landscape and ancestral villages. With the use of an old map that Olga had researched, they located the ancestral plot of the family. Then miraculously, they even located 6 living relatives there and interviewed some of them. One cousin cried “she had been waiting for her family to find her”. Andriy presented us with the most beautiful and emotional video of his visit there. Now we have even made contact with some of the family through Facebook and video chat! Truly amazing experience all thanks to the interest and perseverance of Andriy and his team at Dorosh Heritage tours. We will be forever grateful and now Andriy is a part of our family story. We will definitely plan to return in 2022 to travel and visit our family with Andriy.
We so highly recommend he and his team for one of the most memorable experiences in our lives. If you have potentially lost family in Ukraine, look for them it is so worth it!

In September 2019 my cousin and I visited Ukraine on an organised tour with Dorosh Heritage Tours.
What a marvellous time we had. The itinerary which Andriy had put together for us covered many aspects of this very interesting country. From history, culture, politics, cuisine, industry, agriculture and everything in between. The guides were very knowledgable.
The hotels in Kyiv and Lviv were first class. They were centrally located and VERY comfortable. The staff spoke perfect English and were more than happy to meet every need we might have. We were met personally by our guide at the airport. We were driven to our hotel. We were picked up each morning at a realistic time and driven around the city to our destinations that day, then delivered back to our hotel. When travelling between the cities of Kyiv and Lviv by train, we were again picked up at the hotel and escorted to our correct seats, in the correct carriage, on the correct train. So important when one cannot speak the language. We were then met by Andriy himself at the Lviv station and driven to our hotel. Such wonderful personal service. We have never had better. The whole tour was exceptional. Safe, comfortable, interesting and fun! What more can I say but, DO IT!! GO THERE!! Contact this wonderful young man who runs this amazing tour company.
You won't regret it.

After taking a Viking Cruise from Odessa to Kiev along the Dneiper River we thought we had seen all that Ukraine and Central Europe had to offer. But then we met Andriy Dorosh of Dorosh Heritage Tours and our unique experiences really began!
Andriy and I communicated for about a year before we arrived in Ukraine. His individualized itinerary to take my husband and I back to the villages of our grandparents and my father took a great deal of planning on his part as it encompassed Western Ukraine, Eastern Slovakia, and Southern Poland. Many of the areas we visited were remote where English was limited and he was able to communicate in all the languages - we would have been lost without him!
He additionally introduced us to unique cultural experiences and regional cuisine which we may have been hesitant to try on our own (beef tongue is delicious and Slivovitz quite tasty!) We learned so much history of the areas from him, and spent many hours talking about everything as we travelled through the countryside.
Andriy is one special young man whom we have come to think of as a son. He is so kind and considerate and went far and above to attend to our comfort and well-being. His attention to detail made our trip seamless, relaxing, and most of all made us feel that we were being welcomed “back home.” I highly recommend his services without reservation. I hope I can return again.

Many thanks to Andriy Dorosh for organising the tour to my mother's village in Ukraine. My daughter and I were able to meet relations from my mother's side that we never knew existed until we came to her village. Andriy arranged the trip for us, drove us to the village, did all of the translation and carried out some investigations into birth records of my mother's family. I cannot speak highly enough of Andriy, his knowledge, professionalism and warmth. Our trip was was wonderful and Andrij made it a special and unforgettable experience. I have no hesitation in recommending Dorosh Heritage Tours and Andriy if you are considering in travelling to Ukraine.

My Aunt and I had the pleasure of traveling to Lviv, our Ancestral Village of Ozerna and Ternopil, Ukraine with Andriy Dorosh from Dorosh Heritage Tours in September 2019.
Andriy meticulously planned our trip itinerary that included not only our tour schedule but accommodations and transportation for the entire trip. Traveling abroad was a new experience for both of us and we had some apprehensions that were quickly put to rest when we met Andriy at the airport in Lviv. He has the type of personality that makes everyone who meets him feel comfortable.
Andriy was not only our tour guide, translator, and wonderful driver, but he also took time to educate us on local Ukrainian traditions and the history of our ancestors.
Our primary goal on this trip was to visit our Ancestral Village of Ozerna. This trip far exceeded our expectations. We met family and had a traditional home cooked Ukrainian meal with them and with the help from Andriy translating, we were able to get to know them. Andriy’s research team located a map of the village allowing us to walk the property my Aunt’s Mom, (my Grandmother) and her family lived on and reminisce about stories that they had told us about their time living there. We visited the railroad that they would have taken to board the ship on their journey to America. We went to both Churches in the village that they attended. We visited the cemetery, local businesses, village offices and a kindergarten school in the village. Andriy drove us to the district office in Zboriv and we were able to obtain confirmation of birth, marriage and death for some family members.
Andriy went above and beyond to accommodate us on this trip of a lifetime. He was flexible and gave us as much time as allowed to visit our Ancestral Village and family and for that we are forever grateful. Thank you Andriy for an unforgettable trip and helping us to understand the hardships that our family went through in the past and the hardships facing them now and for helping us to resolve some of our family mysteries. Our only regret is that we did not schedule more time with our newfound family and to explore in our Ancestral Village. We will definitely contact Andriy for further research on our family in the near future and would not hesitate to travel with Dorosh Heritage Tours again. Andriy you have earned our friendship and if this site could give you more than 5 stars, we would give them to you.

Eight of us travelled in a comfortable, new minibus around Ukraine for 26 days from Kyiv to Lviv in August -September 2019. The sun shone and the sunflowers filled the fields. What a memorable holiday! In Kyiv we walked beside the Dnipro River, saw some magnificent churches, the catacombs and parks. We ambled down some boulevards and ate delicious Ukrainian food like Mama used to make. Sometimes even pizza when we wanted a quick lunch! Watched the Independence Day march and mingled with the happy crowds in the Maidan. We travelled to Odessa, Vinnytsia, Kamyanets Podilskyi, Kolomyia with the big pysanka, Karpaty villages, Ivano Frankivsk and then, the beautiful city of Lviv. Everywhere the greenness of the country will surprise you. Saw an opera, visited a school, shopped at malls for modern fashions as well as in village markets where we found some Ukrainian crafts at bargain prices! The hotels were excellent and air-conditioned. All the comforts of home. The guides spoke English as well as Ukrainian! They were very informative and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had a lot of laughs with them and the drivers were very helpful with our luggage. If I can I will go again. Thank you Dorosh Heritage Tours!!
