This is the main square of the old town you approach immediately after entering thru the sea gate. It is packed with shops, restaurants, cafes, but includes a number of historically important structures including the fortified walls, tower clock and an old palace now a hotel. It is usually mobbed with tourists so take a quick look and move on to discover the rest of this incredible city.

As you enter Kotor, this Piazza is generally your first view inside the walls of the Old Town. An attractive clock tower stands before you making a good photo Op.

Square can get crowded as people entering try to get their bearings

Three gates lead to the Old Town of Kotor, the western gate is the main entrance from the sea. Behind the gate we found the Square of Arms, which is a popular part of the town with many cafés, shops and bars. We walked there and saw the famous Clock Tower (17th century) and the Venetian Governor's Palace. It’s a must-see site in Kotor.

The main square in the old town, which you enter through the Sea Gate. There is nothing spectacular about it, it is rather banal. The only notable building is the Clock Tower. There are several restaurants with terraces and several shops. Crowded.

This is the first thing we saw when we walked through the sea gate (main gate). The square has a nice clock tower as you walk in, as well as an old palace, a few souvenir shops, and some great restaurants. Nice little lively square!

Loved this. Main square of the old town. I walked through it so many times. Loved the architecture, churches and atmosphere. Walk around, explore and then grab a bite to drink or some food at one of the restaurants and enjoy!

Very nice square in old Kotor.
You have to stop for a coffer or icecream over there and just watch the people passing ans selling things.
You can feel a little bit of their day to day living.
The restaurants or cafes are not very expensive.

This is the first contact you have with Kotor if you arrive by cruise. Nice Piazza with a lot of restaurants, cafes and shops, where you can rest and buy some souvenirs.

We came across this square when we were seeking to leave the old town having entered through the North Gate earlier. What a great place. Not too big and with beautiful buildings surrounding it, including the clock tower, the area is a wash with cafes, bars and restaurants with plenty of outdoor seating to watch the world go by. I could have sat for hours admiring the architecture but alas the cruise ship wouldn't wait. If you can spend a bit of time to look round. We had far too little and I felt that we missed a bit of the feel of the old town, even though it was full of tourists. It's also fairly inexpensive. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the cost.

If you come in the main gate (say, off a cruise ship) you'll enter the city here. This is the main square of Kotor (also I think the front porch of Old Town) where you'll find many cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as a selection of shops where you can easily spend some time (and money).
