Having visited Albania I understood why the Skanderbeg statue is in the middle of this city. In Kosova the Albanian presence is very strong and they are a people who are very patriotic because I have seen their presence via their flags in many countries like Kosova, Macedonia and Bosnia. Skanderbeg is little heard of in the United States but his heroic fight against the Ottomans in the Fifteenth Century made him a legend in Albania, Kosovo, and Macedonia. The statute is located in the pedestrian way dedicated to Mother Theresa. It is the place for a lovely walk by restaurants and shops.

Statue itself is noting to see, but historically this is rear Cristian admired by Albanians. Born as Cristian, at one point he change to islam only to convert again to Christianity at the end of his life.

Maybe just a statue but an important one of an Albanian hero and as statues go, it looks pretty cool as well. Similar ones are dotted around Europe in Tirana etc and there's also a bust in London. It's on the main street, so you don't have to go out of your way to see it.

This was definitely the most iconic statue we saw while in Prishtina. The statue is a memorable tribute to one of the most celebrated Albanian leaders. Nicely done by the architect.
