Very beautiful!

Unique church! One of the most visited Bulgarian Orthodox church in Plovdiv. She is a valuable religious, historical, and cultural landmark in the city’s Old Town!

It's easy to miss this church. According to the walking tour guide, in Ottoman times, a church could not be higher than its walls, so they built high walls to hide this little beauty. I lit a candle and enjoyed the dark, intense atmosphere.

Small, humble, tranquil and stunningly beautiful Sveti "Konstantin and Elena" church is a prime example of the Bulgarian orthodox architecture and it's right in the heart of the Old Town. Pop in... you will love it.

It's a small church in the old town of Plowdiw. There are nice mural paintings inside. Next to the church there is a bell-tower, which you don't see so often in orthodox churches. The church had originally been built by Emporer Konstantin (my name twin :D ) - but has been reconstructed several times since then. However, it felt cool... More

It located in the heart of the Old Town of Plovdiv and, if I remember well, is located opposite or next to Ethnographic Museum. It's a very beautiful Church, well maintained and with a beautiful interior. It's quite small but notable for its exterior frescoes and hagiographies.. ✿

Very pretty! You can take pictures outside of cathedral but not inside. Make sure you take some Bulgarian currency to buy some candles.

This is a smaller edifice that some but it is more impressive. The interior is beautiful with a great deal of splendid gold leaf and quite well maintained. In fact when we visited this last time a lady was painstakingly repairing and replacing damaged parts (see photos). The exterior has some very nice artwork as well. Worth a visit.

Sts. Constantine and Elena is a three-nave basilica, containing a gilt iconostasis, completed in 1836. It is the oldest Orthodox Church in Plovdiv. Its magnificent Baroque carvings feature two rows of icons (small portraits of saints) made by notable artists of the Renaissance. Icon Gallery: In the courtyard of the Church, there is the Icon Gallery which holds a collection... More
