We went there in July, in the middle of the day - which in retrospect was not the best of ideas since the sun really took its toll on us. So be sure to bring lots of water if you attempt it! That being said, the walk is not that hard (if it wasn't for the burning sun). There are... More

Alyosha monument sits atop on a Bunarjik Hill in Plovdiv, gigantic 36-foot statue of Russian soldier overlooking the city. The road to the monument is enjoyable and relaxing. The view from the top is breathtaking, the Roman amphitheater on an adjacent hill comes into view. Old town’s famous "The Trap" area is also visible, and looks like a labyrinth of... More

Alyosha soviet army memorial is standing at one of seven Plovdiv hills. You can see all city from the top of it and the view is really good. My target was sporting so I ran to the top and turn around.

One of my favourite places for a walk. The park is nice. The energy at this place is ....you can feel it. It's nice, gentle and soft energy. The view is amazing. The monument is a very special place for people who like Russia or are somehow connected with it. The sunrises and sunsets are amazing there.

The monument itself is a concrete reminder of the past of Bulgaria. The hill it stands of is one of the best vintage points over the city and great place for a long walk or a run

It was a bit of an uphill hike, not very long but the gradient is medium in steepness. No cars allowed there so you had to hike. The views were great of the city of Plovdiv, and the monument itself is interesting if you are into the Soviet/brutalist artform.

The hills is a great experience. If you have some extra time in the city, you can check it. It is just something like a 20-30 minutes up the hill depending on the group and speed of walking. The road is paved so it is easy to climb. On the top there is a big monument and you can enjoy... More

The place offers a great view, however it is dangerous to visit at nighttime and or alone. It is a bit windy in autumn so get a jacket.
