The Stone Forest is a short 10 km drive from Varna city centre. We managed to get there using a rental car and GPS guidance. There is a parking spot adjacent to the site. The management of the site employs a security guard to watch...More

Despite the ridiculous heat when we visited, we have never seen anything like this before. For anyone interested in geology or landscapes, it's a fascinating place. Very glad that we made a detour on our way to Golden Sands.

Nice little desert with lots of peculiar stone pillars. If you happen to drive by the Stone Forest, I would recommend paying it a visit.

Preferably by car as public bus transport is available to nearby village Slanchevo only. From there you have to walk about a mile to Stone Forest. If you won't have a rented car get a taxi. The hotel reception can arrange it... More
