When it was first built in the early 1970's on Karachi's Clifton Road ( which leads past Jehangir Kothari Parade to Clifton Beach), it was a prominent landmark. Built on the orders of then Prime Minister Z.A. Bhutto and designed by Artist Ahmed Saeed Nagi, it represented what the Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah dreamed for Pakistan: Unity,... More

The Three Swords Monument is located in Clifton, it was built when Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was in power, it was built on the famous saying of founder of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah (Quaid e Azam) "Unity Faith Discipline" each sword represents each word.

One two and three swords were initially three different circles in the Clinton area of Karachi. 3 swords are also known as teen talwar. We often cross this circle whole commuting from my home to Clinton.

You could buy anything ... absolutely anything at a reasonable price. Really liked shopping for ladies wear, both ready made as well as tailored part wears.

It's simply a roundabout. Just has historical and ideological significance, as the three swords represent three guiding principles, namely, Unity, Faith and Discipline, by the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Bang in the middle of an intersection, I would hardly term this as a place to visit. A landmark yes, nothing more. Also beware of the various beggars and transgender characters hanging around.

Its a round about like two more in Karachi (Two sword and one sword monument). You cannot sit or go there since its a round about. May be photographers want to take some pics of it.
