Elephant Village in Luang Prabang was set up in 2003 and is now owned by a group of passioante Lao nationals. Our sales office is located on the main street in town close to the National Museum and our beautiful elephant camp is located next to the village Ban Xieng Lom. Elephant Village focuses on three objectives:1. Saving Elephants 2. Community Support 3. Nature Preservation. We take elephants out of the very dangerous logging industry and provide them with an alternative way of earning their income. We try to help the elephants which desperately need help the most such as older elephants and elephants which have injuries due to accidents. We currently have 14 elephants in our care including 2 baby elephants which will never have to work in the logging industry. We are also home to a female elephant called Mae Uak, who was injured when she stepped on a 'UXO' (Un-Exploded Ordinance) some time ago, before we rescued her. She is now happily living in our herd.

I spent 2 days in Elephant Village. It was really great experience I've ever had. Joining the tour means I can save elephants and help them. I really miss the camp, my fritnd tour guide Mr. Tha, my partner Elephant Mae Ourk. The food is good, elephants are good, people in the camp are nice, and the room is good,... More

I visited Elephant Village Sanctuary last December 2016. I had such a wonderful experience, one of the best in my life and one that I keep bringing to conversation. It is such a memorable experience that made me write this comment even after a few months passed. Thank you to the gentle elephants and the caring mahouts.

What an amazing experience our elephants Mae Coomon and Mae Langthong and their mahouts made our adventure so enjoyable. Chantha was the greatest host ensuring all our needs were met and taking amazing photos of our adventure. These Ellephant have been rescued from the logging industry and now have a relaxing and enjoyable life in the new home.

Top attraction in Luang Prabang. Mack was our guide- knowledgeable and very welcoming. The village is situated only 20 minutes outside town in a magnificent setting overlooking the Tributary of the Mekong. Elephants appeared well nourished, feet and hides looked in excellentcondition and the guides all had a bond with the elephants. Riding was safe without any chair placed over... More

We are a family of four booked in for the 1 day mahout training. Our guide picked us up from hotel in LP and we were all greeted by friendly staff at the amazing elephant camp. Once introduced to our group we were all given a quick mahout training and then treated to a practise ride on one elephant around... More

I have previously done an elephant sanctuary/mahout training experience in Thailand a few years ago, and this completely exceeded my prior experience! I did the 2 day 1 night trip and am so glad I opted for this. You get to spend more time with the beautiful and sweet gentle giants and the accommodation and pool are such a clean... More

Our guide was Mr. Mack and my mahout was Mr. Lay. From the moment we were picked up at our hotel this was nothing but a positive and exhilarating experience! I went into this with a broken foot so couldn't wear my walking cast but rather jammed my foot into a shoe. So Mr. Mack. Ask for him! He is... More
