Truly local, truly authentic Thanks for my new friend from Luang Prabang bringing me here for a night out. It was a bit too much hanging out in the tourist section of the city. we arrived there a bit early, before 9.30 pm, but not had to wait for too long, at 9.30, local people arrived. and by half an hour the place was full. most local and young people singing and dancing with the band. very good ambiance. band was good and after the Lao classic songs, they started to play popular pop... This place is awesome, depending on what time of the evening you go, you may catch some live music or Karaoke with impromptu performances from the well-dressed men in the audience who ate cajoled into getting on stage - good singers though, to raffles/tombolas with bottles of whiskey being the prize, to the late night scene which might start with... More

we arrived about 10pm my husband and I are in our 50s and we had a great night music was good drinks fairly cheap and everyone very friendly, it closed at midnight not so good Recommend

Loved this venue, and the night we went there it was jam packed! It's a struggle to order anything but beer or whiskey but I eventually managed to get a goblet of vodka after much confusion. Went there at 10pm and before we could warmed up it closed punctually at Midnight.Not really surprised or disappointed as this is Luang Prabang.Quite a good crowd even at closing time and there were many groups of young Ladies drinking by themselves.Disco Music was played but no one was on the Dance floor so not sure they wanted it to... It only really goes off for 2 hours or so Get there between 9-30 and 10 p.m. earlier and the place is empty Most times I have been there it kicks off with a band Before the normal dj takes over The lao get into it as soon as they arrive Good option for drinks is a beer tower if... More

LOGISTICS Due a strict curfew all the drinking venues inside Luang Prabang's city close at around 11.30pm. After this time you have to go to one of two places outlying the city; Dao Fah nightclub or Luang Prabang bowling alley. According to Lonely planet this place is only open from 9-11.30pm.
