Located on the other side of the town closer to where the tributary of Mekong meets the mekong, this is a nice large complex with stunning and impressive architecture of the main temple

The Wat has been extensively restored and is a very impressive example of a Buddhist Temple complex. The variety of buildings and aspects such as the resonating gong provide a good insight into the religion.

Among hundreds of temples in the region, this is one of the most spectacular. Just take the time to be there, and enjoy the beauty and serenity. Centrally located, it is one of the easiest temples to visit.

Large complex of beautiful buildings. Glass tiling matches that in the royal palace complex. Boat house was closed for a promotional video being shot that day. Also, they overcharged on admission for us which was annoying. Don't need more than an hour here though to...More

I was looking forward to see Wat Xieng Thong since among the Wats, this seemed to be the highlight but upon arriving, I realised it looks very poorly-maintained, especially the roof.

I went at 7+ in the morning and I could appreciate the temple by myself. Read "A Walk through the heritage of Luang Prabang" beforehand to better appreciate the art work and the architecture.

This temple is somewhat unique is Asia due to the beautiful mosaique that composed the structure of the temple. Would recommends for people who like this kind of art.

This temple is not crowded because there are many more temples here. Sitting is easy, outside of the buildings are possible. Another good place is near the Mekong river across the entrance. Hope this helps.
