Booked a trip for a family of 4 last minute with Banana boat for $120. Hotel pick up 9.45 then down to the quayside. First stop was the monastery and cave and then a few steps for a stunning view of Luang Prabang. An hour's leisurely boat ride down the Mekong river where we got a pick up truck ride... More

My cousin and I did a tour to Kuang Si Waterfall with Banana Boat. The communication before the tour was very good, and the owner of the shop met us at the river to tell us about the tour and get us ready. The captain of the boat spoke very little English, but he was very kind and always made... More

Myself & my wife did the day tour, morning was by minivan to Kuang Si Falls, Bear Rescue Centre & Butterfly Park. Driver was very professional, helpful & on time. Falls were very impressive, not the turquoise blue colour but this was because of the huge amount of water coming down them! Then took a short walk to the bear... More

We had a great day trip with Banana Boat to the Paper Village and Kuang Si Falls. Traveling by boat to and from the falls was a great way to see the river, and we were served yummy sandwiches on the way there and snacks and beer on the way back. The boat captain was great and clearly knows the... More

Taking a private boat cruise on the Mekong River to visit the popular Kuang Si waterfalls surely beats the tuk tuk land method most people use. A comfortable boat, a friendly and competent boat captain, light lunch (sandwiches, fruits, peanuts, dried river seaweed) complemented by a few soft drinks, water, and a beer per adult), languid river travel with verdant... We wanted to take a boat ride on the Mekong and visit the Kouangxi falls. Took the banana boat Bb01 trip. We were picked at our hotel by a tuk tuk and transferred to the boat. The first stop was a visit a temple and caves on the opposite shore of Luang Prabang. Then we reached our final stop where... More

Emi did a great job of organising a boat and walking tour for us in Nongkhiaw. Not only did we experience the breathtaking scenery along the river, we also went into the villages to catch a glimpse of local life. Highly recommended!

We organised a trip to Nong Khiew through Banana Boat tours. I also have an interest in textiles so wanted to include a visit to a "weaving" village. Had a great drive up through stunning scenery. Nong Khiew has to be seen to be believed.. Emi of Banana boat organised simple accommodation looking over the river. What a joy to... More

Laos is beautiful and the people are very nice so you’re going to have a great time. You'll feel good visiting because you know you are directly supporting the people. Issue is that if you’re paying for a tour service - foreign owned - you expect some service and organization that you will simply not get from Emi at Banana... More

It is difficult to respond to this but here are a few facts, that are omitted above. On receiving an email that Dan and his wife were not happy with the kayaking trip, responded right away with a 30% refund for the day tour. Maybe if Dan had stated what he really wanted in terms of compensation it would have been... More

An "awesome" experience, in the best use of the term. You can have an experience and a glimpse of why this river, as well as others, are so essential to the lives of many Laotians. For a Westerner, the experience is a real eye opener. The long, narrow boats bring you closer to the water than traditional western-style motored boats can... More
