Overlooking the town and the two rivers, you have a great view from the top. There's two (or three) ways up. Admission fee. Avoid sunset as people are fighting for the best photo place up there - and this in a peaceful buddhist surrounding -...More

The view was nice. Seeing a monk take selfies with some women threw us for a loop though! We confirmed he shouldn't have been doing that.

Mount Phousi is just opposite The Royal Palace Museum, conveniently located within the town area. With an entrance fee of 20K Lao Kip, one is able to ascend to the top. One will be awarded with a spectacular view of Luang Prabang upon reaching the...More

There are a few routes up and down the temple. Whichever way you take, it's takes a bit of stamina to reach the top. The view at the top is nice but did not manage to see the sunset as it was a cloudy day

Not worth the effort- sunset not brilliant- loads of people & lots of mosquitos, so cover up if you're going up for the sunset, or wear repellent. However good training event if you want to get a leg & lung burn.

We were able to see all f Luang Prabang from the top on the mountain. I was so proud to be able to reach the top. There are a lot of steps but it was worth it.

It's so crowds that you won't enjoy it and I didn't find the sunset specially nice from there. Try early morning

20,000 kip is too much to pay for mediocre views of the town from above, unless the sky is clear for sunrise or sunset.

It is very popular to go there to watch the sunset so be aware! It is crowded. You also have a good view of the city down below.

If you don’t mind a nice “stair hike” then this is a good way to see some views of the city and mountains. The view is not “panoramic”, however. There are many trees blocking the view so it’s not very good for landscape photos. If...More
