Al Balad is a fantastic place where you can see modernity coexisting with history. You can go shopping for perfumes, Saudi clothes, jewellery, mobile phones, bakhour (frankincense), and a lot of other things in the same place.

There are lots of hidden jewels in the Balad area. The easter side of Gabel Street has lots of historical sites that are now being renovated and accessible due to the wonderful renovation of the streets and buildings in the neighborhood.
