Crowdy place but with plenty of shopping options. Big gold market, currency exchange and Abaya shops. Regular traffic should be banned there.

The balad is a bustling and charming part of Jeddah. Have a liver sandwich on the street or grab souvenirs. My dad got a cane with a snake head and a sword tucked inside.

From the tiny old streets to the amazing architecture, the shopping is almost an afterthought. The tomb of eve being close by is also a unique sight. In order to truly say you have been shopping in Jeddah, you have to visit Balad.

5PM max! If you want lunch, I'd recommend you to go to Al-Hamraa area, have lunch and hit the road to Balad after Asr prayer time!

The Red Sea Palace is nice, but a little expensive. Al Morooj Kareem is even closer, clean and cheap. There are some more hotels around Morooj Kareem.
